Around 20% of the world believes in reincarnation, one of the oldest and most common spiritual beliefs in the world. With so many followers, and the many uncanny stories that hint at evidence for it, an open minded consideration is warranted of what the real-world implications would be if reincarnation really is a part of how reality actually works.

Much of the East, via Hinduism, Taoism, Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism follow the doctrine of reincarnation, while the West to a lesser degree has embraced it since the beliefs in metempsychosis by Ancient Greek philosophers like Pythagoras, Socrates and Plato…

America has a date with its fascist destiny. It’s baked into the depths of its psyche. It’s flirted with it, considered it, come close it, and on some level, even longs for it. America’s crash course with fascism can be understood by understanding the roots of American culture and mapped by conservativism’s inevitable reaction to irreversible demographic trends.

The Origin

“It is difficult to predict the extent of self-government which the [person] of the future may reach or the heights to which [they] may carry [their] technique. [We] will become immeasurably stronger, wiser and subtler…The average human type will rise to the heights of an Aristotle, a Goethe, or a Marx. And above this ridge new peaks will rise.” — Trotsky

Should humanity make the conscious effort to evolve itself? Is it wise to indefinitely strive for more and more advanced versions of ourselves, or are we better off not fussing about it?

Some people feel uneasy about the prospect…

The Meritocracy Myth

“I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops” -Steven Jay Gould

For all the rhetoric about equality of opportunity in our culture, there’s no escaping the fact that we are today still very much in a paradigm of privilege, i.e. inequality of opportunity.

Both wealth and poverty are statistically highly intergenerational; those born into privileged families have a much easier time making it to success than the underprivileged. …

Is there a hidden, sacred and transcendent aspect of politics?

Politics is secular and spirituality is transcendent- but both are significant parts of the human condition. Is there a link?

Part of our human condition is breaking free from illusion, and one of those illusions we need to break free from is the illusion of different aspects of our existence being independent of any other. In the scheme of things, everything effects everything else.

Spirituality and politics seem like completely different subjects at first. The former is the pursuit of connection of one’s inner being with a greater sense of…

Cities are where most of us live, work and generally experience most of our lives. By 2050, 90% of the US and 68% of the world population is projected to live in urban areas. When we step out of our homes, we’re surrounded by the designs of city planners, architects and developers, and those designs have a profound effect on our day to day lives.

Cities are a huge part of our existence. …

Looting has reached crisis levels. Everyone’s been talking about it. All the better, because it’s about time we start raising concerns about this national crisis of character which harms honest, hardworking people and benefits scoundrels. Let’s call them what they are- looters are immoral thieves, leeching off the backs of the honest, destroying livelihoods, wrecking economies, and degenerating national character.

Looters, unleashed by Reaganomics, pillaged their way through the prosperity of the middle classes following the election of 1980. …

Public banking will bring democracy and accountability to the world of finance.

A specter is haunting Wall Street: the public banking movement, which vows to replace private banks’ influence in public affairs.

This movement is gaining traction in states and cities across the U.S. as motions to advance public banking are emerging in legislative halls from California to New York. In response to this momentum, hope is growing that the first U.S. public bank in 100 years will form in the foreseeable future. …

When you think of “Left” and “Right” politics , what do you think? Those terms originated during the French Revolution, when the National Assembly was divided by supporters of the King to his right, and supporters of the revolution to his left. Since then, “Left” has signified change, progress, revolution, reformation and transformation of society, while “Right” has signified order, stability and status quo preservation. …

There’s a chance reading this title might inflame you. “A New World Order?” you might think, “Isn’t that the plan for the total tyrannical takeover of the world by the global elites?”

According to this analysis, which some might call a “conspiracy theory,” a secret plan has been in the works for ages to create a totalitarian one world government. Proponents of this theory say global elites have been conspiring to bring the world into a dystopian climax by finalizing plans to destroy national sovereignty, implement a global surveillance network, depopulate a majority of the planet, and have the remaining…
